Andy Woods of GEO-Instruments is configuring an AMTS mounted on the roof of the Rosslyn subway cavern. Four linked AMTS were deployed to monitoring for possible deformation from demolition and excavation activities taking place above the metro structures.
The section drawing above shows a typical layout of prisms, seismographs, tiltmeters, and convergence gauges. This layout was repeated every 50 feet for the length of the monitored area. GEO automated data collection and provided web-based processing and reporting.
